# Connect an AI assistant to your 2LNR account

Connect an assistant once and ask it the questions you'd otherwise open the app for: where upgrade space is open on your route, whether saver award space is open in the window you can travel, whether the flights you've already booked have upgrade space. The answers come from 2LNR's own availability data, not from the assistant's guess.

**Early access:** assistant connections are open to a small group of accounts right now while we test them. This guide describes how they work.

**The short version:** your assistant gets a read-only view of the same availability 2LNR shows you, plus your own trips, seat monitors and loyalty status. It never reads your conversation history, and the only change it can make on its own is starting or pausing a seat monitor, which it asks about first.

## What you can ask

A connected assistant can answer the questions the Upgrade matrix, the Award search and the Route map exist to answer, without you opening any of them:

- **Upgrade space on a route.** “Is there upgrade space from Chicago to London in March?” comes back as the dates with open space, how old the underlying data is, and a link into the Upgrade matrix for the month.
- **Saver award space.** “Any saver award space in Business from LAX to Tokyo Haneda in May?” reads the same award availability the Award search shows, on the carriers 2LNR covers.
- **Your own flights.** “Do any of my upcoming flights have upgrade space?” walks the flights already in your account and answers per flight. If you haven't added any yet, it can get one ready for you to add in 2LNR.
- **Where you could go.** “Where in Europe can I use a systemwide upgrade from Chicago?” answers across every route 2LNR checks and every month your account can see, in one go: the destinations with space, their best dates and the months with the most open dates, and which airports it counted as Europe. You can ask about a country, a US state or the airports near a city the same way, for saver award space as well as upgrades.
- **Your status and certificates.** “What status do I hold in each of my loyalty programs?” answers with your tiers, balances rounded down, qualifying figures such as Loyalty Points or flights, and any upgrade certificates saved in 2LNR. It doesn't project status or say how close you are to a tier.
- **Live checks.** “Is my flight tomorrow on time?”, “Which seats are open in Business on my flight Thursday?” or “Check those two dates again now” asks the airline at the moment you ask, instead of using 2LNR's last check. Each one counts toward a usage limit on your account.
- **Your setup.** “What can you look up for me in 2LNR?” answers with your home airports, the upgrade options and award programs your account can search, and how far ahead it can see.

Every availability answer says how old the data behind it is. An assistant that says “as of four hours ago” is telling you something a confident guess can't.

## What your assistant sees, and what it doesn't

A connection is deliberately narrow. When you ask a question that needs your own data, 2LNR sends back the part that answers it and nothing else.

**It can see:** the availability, schedule and seat-map data 2LNR holds, plus the airline's own flight status and seat maps when you ask for a live check; your trips as trip names, flight numbers, dates, routes and cabin; the seat monitors you've set up; your tier names and expiry dates, certificate counts, rounded mile and point balances, and qualifying figures such as Loyalty Points or flights (never dollar figures); and whether your account is on Free or Pro.

**It never sees:** your name, your record locators, ticket numbers, your email address or phone number, your loyalty account numbers, or an exact balance. Those aren't withheld by policy alone. The connector is built so that there's no path for them to travel.

**2LNR never reads your chat history.** We receive the request your assistant sends and nothing else: not the messages before it, not the ones after it. We couldn't ask for them if we wanted to.

**What 2LNR keeps.** For 90 days we keep a record of each request your assistant makes: which tool it used, the airports, cities or regions, dates and options it asked about, and a short summary of what we answered, such as how many dates had space. Only 2LNR staff can see it, and we use it to find and fix answers that were wrong or confusing. Your conversation, the full answer and your trip names are never part of it, and deleting your 2LNR account deletes the record. The full picture, category by category, is in the [privacy policy](https://2lnr.com/privacy.md#connected-assistants).

## What it can change

One thing: starting or pausing a seat monitor. Your assistant tells you what it's about to watch, you confirm, and the watch appears in your account, with a line in Connected assistants saying which assistant started it. If it wasn't what you meant, there's an undo.

Everything else your assistant can get ready but can't commit: adding a flight to your trips, adding a home airport, setting your default airline, pausing or deleting one of your watches, and turning email or text alerts on or off. It hands you a link; you open it in 2LNR, check what's shown and press the button. The link works once, only for your account, for an hour. To connect a mailbox, it points you to the settings page instead. The reason is simple. An assistant that misreads a question should waste ten seconds of your time, not rearrange your account.

## Free and Pro

Assistant connections are built for free accounts as well as Pro. On a free account, what your assistant sees is exactly what the app shows you: the next 14 days of availability and no seat monitors. Ask about a date beyond that window and the answer says so rather than pretending there's nothing there.

Pro opens the full 331 days and seat monitoring, through the assistant and in the app alike. There's no separate charge for connecting one. Live checks (re-checking a date, pulling up a seat map or looking up flight status) count toward a usage limit on your account. On a free account, flight status covers the flights on your own trips from yesterday through the next 14 days, and seat maps come from the cabin layouts 2LNR has on file.

## How to connect one

Connecting takes a few minutes and is the same idea in every assistant: you give it 2LNR's address, it sends you to 2LNR to approve, and it brings you back. Nothing is installed, and you never type a key or a password into the assistant.

### Before you start

- **A 2LNR account with early access.** Assistant connections are open to a small group of accounts right now. If yours isn't one of them, the approval step says so and nothing is connected. To check first, open [Connected assistants](https://2lnr.com/account/assistants?add=1) in 2LNR: if it shows the server URL and the steps, your account has access.
- **2LNR's address.** Paste this into your assistant exactly as written: `https://2lnr.com/mcp`. If the assistant asks how to authenticate, choose OAuth. The address is also shown on that settings page.
- **A browser.** Your assistant opens 2LNR in a browser window to finish. Log in to 2LNR if it asks.

Some assistants limit custom connections to certain plans. If your assistant has no way to add a custom connection, its own plan page says why. Menus move around, so if a step doesn't match what you see, jump to [If something goes wrong](#if-something-goes-wrong).

Every assistant ends at a 2LNR approval page, and it shows who is asking before you agree to anything. “Approval goes to” shows the assistant's web address. For Claude, ChatGPT and Grok the heading reads “Connect *your assistant* to your 2LNR account” with the assistant's name in place, a “Verified” mark sits beside the address and the approve button is named for the assistant, such as **Connect Claude**. For Gemini and Perplexity the heading shows the assistant's web address instead (“*the address* wants to connect to your 2LNR account”), the name the assistant gives itself carries a “Not verified” tag, the page says “Only continue if you started this connection from that site.”, and the approve button reads **Connect assistant**. That is expected, so go ahead if you started the connection.

The page lists up to three groups of what the assistant can do with your account: **“See”** is always on, while **“Do, after asking you”** and **“Live checks that use your allowance”** each have a switch, so turn off the ones you don't want. Choose the connect button to approve, or **Cancel** to connect nothing and go back to the assistant. After you approve, you land back in the assistant.

### Claude

Use Claude on the web or the desktop app. Once added, the connection works in Claude's mobile app too.

1. In the sidebar, choose **Customize**, then open the **Connectors** tab.
2. Choose **Add**, then **Add custom connector**.
3. In the “Add custom connector” dialog (Step 1 of 2), enter 2LNR as the **Name**, paste `https://2lnr.com/mcp` into **MCP server URL**, and choose **Continue**.
4. Finish the second step Claude shows. Claude then opens 2LNR in your browser. Log in if asked, check the approval page and choose **Connect Claude**.

Older instructions point to Settings, then Connectors. That page now only says connectors moved to Customize.

### ChatGPT

Use ChatGPT on the web.

1. In the sidebar, choose **Plugins**, then **Add** at the top right, then **Add custom MCP server**.
2. In the “Add custom MCP server” dialog, enter 2LNR as the **Name**. **Description (optional)** can stay empty.
3. Under **Connection**, choose **Server URL** and paste `https://2lnr.com/mcp`.
4. Set **Authentication** to **OAuth**.
5. ChatGPT shows the notice “Custom MCP servers introduce risk.” Select **I understand and want to continue**, then choose **Create as a plugin**.
6. On the plugin's page, choose **Connect**, then **Continue to 2LNR** in the “Connect 2LNR” dialog.
7. ChatGPT opens 2LNR in your browser. Log in if asked, check the approval page and choose **Connect ChatGPT**. ChatGPT then lists your 2LNR account under **Connected accounts**.

Some ChatGPT accounts have to turn on a developer mode setting before **Add custom MCP server** appears, and where that setting lives has changed more than once. If the option is missing, look for a developer mode setting in ChatGPT's settings, or check ChatGPT's own help.

### Grok

Use Grok on the web, at grok.com.

1. In the sidebar, choose **Plugins**, open the **Connectors** tab and choose **New Connector**.
2. In the “Custom Connector” dialog, enter 2LNR as the **Name** and paste `https://2lnr.com/mcp` into **Server URL**.
3. Choose **Add Connector**.
4. Grok opens 2LNR in your browser. Log in if asked, check the approval page and choose **Connect Grok**.

### Gemini

Use Gemini on the web, at gemini.google.com.

1. Choose **Settings & help**, then **Connected Apps**.
2. Scroll to **Custom apps**.
3. Paste `https://2lnr.com/mcp` into the field “Add a custom app link to get started” and choose **Next**.
4. Gemini opens 2LNR in your browser. Log in if asked, check the approval page and choose **Connect assistant**.

Gemini asks that you are 18 or over and in the United States, that Gemini's language is set to English, that you use a personal Google Account rather than a Workspace one, and that Keep Activity is on. These are Google's conditions, not 2LNR's.

### Perplexity

Use Perplexity on the web.

1. Open **Settings**, then **Connectors**.
2. Choose **Add custom connector**, then **Remote**.
3. Paste `https://2lnr.com/mcp` and choose **OAuth** for authentication.
4. Perplexity opens 2LNR in your browser. Log in if asked, check the approval page and choose **Connect assistant**.

### Try it

Once you're back in the assistant, start a new chat and type one of these:

- “What can you look up for me in 2LNR?”
- “Is there upgrade space from Chicago to London in March?”
- “Any saver award space in Business from LAX to Tokyo Haneda in May?”
- “Do any of my upcoming flights have upgrade space?”
- “Where in Europe can I use a systemwide upgrade from Chicago?”

If the assistant answers from memory instead of asking 2LNR, tell it to use 2LNR, or start your message with “2LNR”. Your connection also appears under [Connected assistants](https://2lnr.com/account/assistants) in 2LNR.

### If something goes wrong

Each of these is a message 2LNR itself can show while you connect. Each one says nothing was connected, so you can always start again.

- **“Assistant connections are in early access.”** Your account isn't in the small group that has access yet. Everything else in 2LNR works as usual. Nothing was connected, and there is nothing to change on your side.
- **“We couldn't check that assistant just now.”** 2LNR couldn't read the assistant's published details, which is usually brief. Wait a minute, then choose Connect again in your assistant.
- **“Too many connection attempts for now.”** 2LNR limits how many new connections an account can start in an hour. Wait up to an hour, then choose Connect again in your assistant.
- **“This connection request didn't work.”** Something in the request from your assistant wasn't right, so 2LNR stopped before asking you anything. Go back to your assistant and start the connection again.
- **“This assistant can't connect to 2LNR.”** The assistant asked for something 2LNR can't accept, such as access to a different service, or published details 2LNR can't use. Trying again won't change the result. Email support, as below.
- **“This browser isn't keeping 2LNR's approval cookie.”** Cookies are blocked for 2lnr.com, or a privacy extension is removing them. Allow cookies for 2lnr.com, then start the connection again from your assistant.
- **“We couldn't check your account just now”** or **“We couldn't check access just now.”** A check on 2LNR's side didn't go through. Choose Try again, or wait a moment and start again.
- **“We couldn't load this page.”** Something went wrong on 2LNR's side before you could approve anything. Start the connection again from your assistant.
- **“This account can't connect an assistant.”** Assistant connections are turned off for this account. If you think that's a mistake, [email support](mailto:support@2lnr.com).

Other situations, on the assistant's side:

- **The option to add a custom connection isn't in your assistant.** That is decided by the assistant, not by 2LNR. Some limit custom connections to certain plans, and some need a setting turned on first. The assistant's own plan page or help says which.
- **Your assistant asks to connect again.** A connection that goes unused for 90 days, or reaches a year, needs connecting again. Changing your 2LNR password disconnects every assistant. Disconnecting one in 2LNR ends that one. Connect it again from your assistant.
- **You want to change what a connection can do.** Remove 2LNR in your assistant and add it again, then choose differently on the approval page.

If a step doesn't match what you see, or a connection fails and none of the above helps, email [support@2lnr.com](mailto:support@2lnr.com) with the exact error message and which assistant you were connecting.

## Disconnecting

Open [Connected assistants](https://2lnr.com/account/assistants) in your account settings. Each connection shows when you added it, when it was last used, and how many requests it has made in the past week. Disconnect one, or disconnect all of them at once. A disconnected assistant stops working immediately, and disconnecting doesn't log you out of 2LNR. Changing your password disconnects every assistant, on purpose.

A connection lasts up to a year, and one that goes unused for 90 days needs connecting again. To change what a connection can do, remove 2LNR from your assistant and add it again.

## Connected assistant FAQs

**Does 2LNR read my conversations with my assistant?**

No. 2LNR receives the single request your assistant sends when it needs travel data, and nothing else. The rest of your conversation never reaches us, and there is no mechanism for us to ask for it.

**Does 2LNR keep a record of what my assistant asks?**

Yes, for 90 days, and only 2LNR staff can see it. For each request we keep which tool your assistant used, the airports, cities or regions, dates and options it asked about, and a short summary of what we answered, such as how many dates had space, so we can find and fix answers that were wrong or confusing. Your conversation, the full answer and your trip names are never part of it, and deleting your 2LNR account deletes the record.

**Can my assistant change things in my account?**

It can start or pause a seat monitor, and it asks you first. Anything else, such as adding a flight or deleting a seat monitor, it can only get ready: it hands you a link, and nothing changes until you confirm it in 2LNR. So a misread question costs you a few seconds rather than rearranging your account.

**Do I need Pro to connect an assistant?**

No. Assistant connections are in early access and open to a small group of accounts right now, but they're built for free accounts too: a free account gets exactly what the app gives it, the next 14 days of availability and no seat monitors. Pro opens the full 331 days and seat monitoring, in the app and through your assistant alike.

**What does my assistant's provider see?**

Whatever is in the answer we send back, which the provider then handles under its own terms. That is why the answers carry flight numbers, dates, routes and cabins but never your name, record locators, ticket numbers, contact details or account numbers.

**Which assistants can I connect?**

Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, Gemini and Perplexity. Assistant connections are in early access and open to a small group of accounts right now. Some assistants limit custom connections to certain plans, and if the option is missing the assistant's own plan page says why. The steps for each are in this guide.

**How do I disconnect?**

Open Connected assistants in your account settings and disconnect the one you want, or all of them at once. It takes effect immediately, and changing your 2LNR password disconnects every assistant as well.
