# Route map: see where you can go, and where you can upgrade

2LNR's route map draws the nonstop routes in its schedule data on one interactive map. Pick an airport to see its network, filter by airline or aircraft, and open a route's calendar of confirmed upgrade and award availability where 2LNR tracks it.

Searching one city pair at a time hides routes you didn't know existed. The map shows the network we cover at once, so you can plan around where upgrades clear. Browsing it is free and needs no account.

## Route planning is more than picking the cheapest flight

How you route an itinerary affects whether you can upgrade, what cabin you end up in, and how much it costs.

### Blind booking

- Search for the cheapest nonstop and ignore upgrade potential entirely
- No visibility into whether a connecting route through a different hub has better upgrade odds
- Partner-operated segments follow different upgrade rules, but most travelers never check who actually flies the metal
- Routing through a secondary hub might save money and open up upgrade space, but you'd never know
- End up on a route where business class is always full and upgrades never clear

### Route-aware planning

- See the covered network on an interactive map, and click any airport to explore connections
- Upgrade availability layered on routes and dates, so you can see which city pairs are showing confirmed space
- Compare nonstop vs. connecting options side by side, including upgrade potential for each leg
- Filter by airline, alliance, aircraft type, distance and flight time to find the routes worth flying
- Link directly to the upgrade matrix to check real-time availability for any route you discover

## Tools for planning upgrade-friendly trips

Beyond the basic map, these tools help you make better routing decisions.

### Interactive network map

Click any airport to see its routes drawn on a real map. Hover a route for flight frequency, aircraft type, and the cabins available on that service, and every path reflects who actually operates the metal.

### Upgrade calendar overlay

A 12-month heatmap per route, month by month and day by day, with segment-level seat counts. The overlay is included with Pro; the map itself is free to browse.

### Connection finder

Enter an origin and destination to see the viable connections through the network's hubs. Each option shows total travel time, layover duration, and the upgrade availability profile for each leg independently.

### Aircraft & cabin details

Not all business class is the same. Filter routes by aircraft type to find lie-flat seats, direct aisle access, or the specific product you want, and see which routes fly widebody vs. narrowbody equipment.

### Schedule calendar

Day-by-day schedules with equipment and frequency for any route, so you can see how often a city pair flies, and on what aircraft, before you commit to a date.

### Matrix integration

Found a promising route? One click takes you to the upgrade matrix to see real-time availability. The route map is where you discover; the matrix is where you confirm.

## Who uses the route map

### Points and miles enthusiasts

You plan trips around value, finding routes where upgrades are confirmable and premium cabins have the best product. The route map shows the routings you'd miss searching one city pair at a time.

### Flexible travelers

You have the freedom to route creatively. Maybe DFW-NRT via LAX has better upgrade odds than the nonstop. The route map shows the options so you can trade a short layover for a confirmed front cabin.

## Frequently asked questions

**What routes does the route map cover?**

The map draws the nonstop routes 2LNR has captured in its own schedule data: a multi-carrier network spanning domestic and international flying, not one airline's map. Coverage is what 2LNR has captured rather than every route flown worldwide, so a very small or newly launched carrier may be thin. The upgrade availability overlay covers American, Delta and Alaska; award availability spans more than 20 airlines in Award search.

**How are upgrade trends shown?**

The overlay shows collected availability observations for each route and date, refreshed continuously. It is the same data behind the upgrade matrix, not a prediction.

**Can I filter routes by connection count or travel time?**

Yes. The map filters routes by number of stops, flight time, distance, airline, alliance and aircraft type. For a city pair, the connection finder builds one- and two-stop options and shows each layover and the total travel time.

**Does the map show real-time availability or collected data?**

The map's calendar shows collected availability by date. For the freshest per-flight view, click through to the [upgrade matrix](https://2lnr.com/lp/upgrade-dashboard.md). The map helps you discover routes; the matrix shows what is available today.
