What AwardFares does well
A comparison is only useful if it is honest about the other tool. Two things AwardFares does well, stated plainly.
Comparing programs side by side, refreshed fast
AwardFares searches two loyalty programs at once on its entry paid tier and five on the higher one, and the higher tier can refresh availability as often as once a minute. When the real question is "which program should I transfer to for this trip", running the programs against each other in one view is exactly the right shape, and it answers that faster than checking each program in turn.
Live searches, seat maps, and a Journey Planner
On the paid tiers the searches run live rather than replaying what somebody else already looked up, which is the honest way to search a program you are about to transfer points into. It also offers live seat-map lookups and a Journey Planner for building routings, both useful when you are constructing a specific itinerary.
Where 2LNR takes a different approach

The upgrade layer an award search cannot see
